New Sermon Series on the Book of Proverbs

The book of Proverbs is part of the wisdom literature of the Old Testament along with Job, Psalms, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs. It seeks to answer the simple question of “How do we practically live life?”.  Many other parts of the bible talk about the glory of God and our high calling to follow Him and Proverbs helps us get down to the nitty gritty of how we actually walk worthy of such a great calling.

The book serves as both a mirror to highlight our faults as well as a guidebook to how we should walk, think and act in a godly way.  It does not contain promises as such but truisms on how life should go if you act in a certain way so it is full of practical application for all believers. Much of the book is made up of short memorable statements that contain not only practical application but also theological truth. The Bible’s twitter!

The series will start on Sunday 17th April.

What An Amazing Journey

The Freedom in Christ Course ended last Sunday and what an amazing journey it has been for the church. It was great that so many learnt about their identity in Christ, corrected with wrong thinking, chose forgiveness over bitterness and walked in the freedom that Jesus’ death has made possible.

Thank you Lord for your amazing grace upon us!

If you missed any of the talks from the course then you can catch up with them here.

Jesus the King

This Easter we are starting a new sermon series entitled Jesus the King. The focus of the series is to see Jesus as THE king in all aspects of the Easter Story.  He is the King welcomed into Jerusalem by the multitudes waving palm branches. He is the King who inaugurates a new covenant and dies on a cross for His people.  He is the King who rises triumphantly from death having defeated His enemies.  He is the King who has ushered in a new kingdom and will be with His people always.

The parts of the series are as follows:

13th March - The Coming King (Luke 19:28-40)

20th March - The Dying King (Luke 22:7-23)

27th March - The Risen King (Luke 24:1-12)

3rd April - The Present King (Luke 24:36-53)

Looking forward to a great Easter celebrating Jesus the King!
